The ice rink in the Knyazeska Garden in Sofia is now open for skaters.

Construction of the rink was delayed by the dismantling of the Soviet Army Monument, but part of it is now finished. The rink is 400 metres long this year and will be open until March 10, provided the weather is not too warm.

From 15 January, students from the capital's schools will be able to use the ice rink free of charge. Meanwhile, construction continues on other parts of the rink, which will eventually cover the entire area around the demolished monument in the centre of Sofia.
