The Chairman of the Bulgarian Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov, and his Vietnamese counterpart, Vuong Dinh Hue, announced the strengthening of investment cooperation between Bulgaria and Vietnam. Today is the third day of the official visit to Vietnam of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament Rosen Zhelyazkov.

Vietnam is interested in Bulgarian rose oil used in the pharmaceutical industry, and Bulgaria is interested in the labour mobility of Vietnamese nationals

The role of parliaments in expanding economic and sectoral cooperation was discussed during the visit.

Vietnam has a great interest in strengthening cooperation in science and education, because a large part of their specialists have studied in Bulgaria. Political consultations at the level of foreign ministers are forthcoming, as well as the 24th meeting of the joint commission on economic and scientific-technical cooperation.

In 2024, the agreement on labour migration between the two countries should also be negotiated, explained Zhelyazkov. He listed sectors that have potential for developing relations, such as energy, industry, high-tech agriculture, innovation, pharmaceuticals, tourism, police cooperation, countering cybercrime and cross-border crime.

During the visit to Hanoi, Kazanlak Mayor Galina Stoyanova signed a memorandum of cooperation with the provincial capital city of Lai Chau.
