Bulgaria can count on Germany's support for entry into the Eurozone and joining Schengen by land. The assurance was given by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a conversation with Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov in Brussels, the government press service reported.
PM Denkov also spoke with the Prime Minister of Finland, Petteri Orpo, who also said that Helsinki supports Bulgaria for the Eurozone and Schengen. Denkov made the partners acquainted with the fiscal situation in the country and pointed out the low external debt and deficit. "We expect inflation to be within the Maastricht rules by the end of the year. We are working for the date of January 1, 2025 regarding the Eurozone," the Prime Minister pointed out. The Prime Ministers of the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia and Estonia - Mark Rutte, Alexander de Croo, Robert Golob and Kaja Kallas, also expressed their support for Bulgaria's entry into the Eurozone and joining Schengen by land.
