Helipad officially opened in the complex of Sofia's Medical Academy

A helipad for landing of air ambulances was officially opened in Saint Ekaterina Hospital in central Sofia. The hospital is part of the Medical Academy complex in Sofia. 

Bulgaria's Minister of Health Hristo Hinkov indicated that this is the second of the three helipads for air ambulances in Sofia. 

It is expected that 26 hospital helipads, Prof. Hinkov announced and expressed hope that in one or two years, there will be licensed helipads in the large regional hospitals in the country. 

In this way, the rapid transportation of both patients and emergency medicines, blood products, can be ensured as well as adequate response in donor situations.
