Chepelare honors its Olympic champion Ekaterina Dafovska with a sports festival

The municipality of Chepelare is organizing today a sports festival in honor of Ekaterina Dafovska, who won the only Olympic gold medal for Bulgaria in biathlon. This year marks 26 since the Bulgarian athlete claimed the Olympic gold i Nagano.

Many games and competitions await the visitors of the Rhodope town. The program will be opened with greetings from Ekaterina Dafovska, Chepelare Mayor Boran Hadzhiev and Bulgaria‘s best snowboarder Radoslav Yankov. Then there will be a tire and rope pulling competition, sledding, and relay games for children. Ski and snowboard competitions are also planned.

One of the attractions will be the demonstration of shooting with a laser rifle, performed by the members of the sports club "Rozen Chepelare - 2016" with chairperson Ekaterina Dafovska.

After the awards ceremony there will be a snow party with delicious food and drinks. DJ Damyanov will also participate at the event.
