Bulgaria reports 5% growth in the number of tourists since the beginning of the winter season

In the first two months of the current winter season, Bulgaria reported a 5% increase in the number of tourists as compared to the same period last year.  The most significant growth was registered in the Italian market. However, the number of Israeli tourists visiting the country has decreased with 69%. The number of Bulgarian tourists increased with 8%. The most popular ski destination is the municipality of Bansko with a total of 86,772 registrations, according to information from the Ministry of Tourism. 

The leading markets for this winter season are: Bulgaria- 683,477 registrations, Greece-33,281 registrations, Romania- 30,619 registrations, Turkey- 31,955, North Macedonia- 20,842, Great Britain-19,008 and Italy- with 17,118 registrations. The number of tourists from North Macedonia increased with 15%, British tourists increased with 6%. The number of Italian tourists increased with over 30%.
