Weather forecast for Bulgaria for 18 February 2024

Daytime temperatures on Sunday will remain high for the season

Clear and almost calm weather will prevail over most of the country overnight. The minimum temperatures will be between minus 3°C and 2°C, in Sofia - around minus 2°C. On Sunday, the cloudiness will be broken, more significant over Western Bulgaria and in some places there will be light rain, in the mountains - light snow. A weak to moderate northwesterly wind will blow, in eastern Bulgaria - north-northeasterly wind. 

The daytime temperatures will remain without significant change as highs will be mostly between 10°C and 15°C, and in Sofia - around 10°C.

Over the mountains, the cloudiness will be broken, in the massifs in the western half of the country - mostly significant, and in some places there will be light snowfall. Moderate to strong winds will blow, mainly from the north-northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m will be about 4°C, at 2,000 m - about minus 2°C.

Along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, clouds will disperse, the wind - weak to moderate. The maximum temperatures will be between 9°C and 13°C, and the temperature of the sea water - 7°-8°C. 

Cloudiness over the Balkans will be variable, more often significant over the northern half and in some areas there will be thunderstorms. There will be more sunny hours in Albania and Greece. It will be 17 C in Athens, 12 °C in Belgrade, 11 °C in Bucharest and Istanbul.
