Volunteers from the Traditional National Society have re-enacted the capture of Vasil Levski on a frosty December evening in 1872 at the Kakrina inn, reports Bulgarian National Radio's correspondent from Lovech, Plamen Hristov. The culmination of the commemorations will be tonight's national torchlight procession "151 years of immortality". The memory of the Apostle was also honoured by many patriots from all over the country who gathered in front of the monuments in his honour.

In Varna, the anniversary was marked with a citywide commemoration, a military ritual and a requiem prayer led by priests of the Metropolitan of Varna and the Holy Metropolis of Veliki Preslav, Daniela Stoynova reported from Varna.
