For the third consecutive year, women from a care home in Yambol are making martenitsas and souvenirs for a charitable cause. This time, they are raising funds for the treatment of seven-year-old Viktor from the village of Kabile who has cerebral palsy.
"We get up in the morning and start making them. We really enjoy it because we want to bring happiness and to help those in need. We create models, the occupational therapists approve them and we start working", says 70-year-old Tonka Ivanova.
The women buy materials and yarn with funds from the care home. Their martenitsas are not sold, but are given away with a smile and those who wish to make a donation can put money into a donation box. The stand with their works is located in front of the Regional Library in central Yambol.
