Plovdiv hosts the Seventh International Bagpipe Conference

Bulgarian and foreign bagpipers and teachers of this traditional music instrument will meet in Plovdiv from March 8 to 10. This is one of the initiatives in Bulgaria dedicated to the International Bagpipe Day - March 10. The event aims to preserve and popularize the history and the skill of playing the bagpipe.

The three-day bagpipe conference in Plovdiv is organized for the first time in Eastern Europe by the Bulgarian National Bagpipe Association with the support of the Academy of Music and Dance and Fine Art "Prof. Asen Diamandiev’’ - Plovdiv and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.

50 participants from 18 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Germany and Finland, will take part at the Seventh International Bagpipe Conference, the Chairman of the Bulgarian National Bagpipe Association Petar Yanev said for Radio Bulgaria.
