Funeral prayer and Trisagion in the Metropolitan Church of St Marina for Patriarch Neophyte

Photo: BGNES
The earthly remains of Patriarch Neophyte were met with the tolling of mourning bells at the Metropolitan Church of St. Marina in Sofia, where the clergy of the Diocese of Sofia had assembled. Many lay people had gathered to bid His Holiness a last farewell.

In the church, the bishops served the Trisagion (funeral prayer) for His Holiness' soul. Following the prayer, the clergy will read the Gospel without interruption until the funeral.

After the funeral service, first the clergy will bow before the remains and then the laity will have the opportunity to pay their respects.
