Bulgaria’s best tennis player Grigor Dimitrov defeated 3:6; 6:3; 7:6 (3) Hubert Hurkacz (Poland) to reach the quarterfinals of the ATP Masters 1000 Miami for the first time in his career. The match lasted 2 hours and 41 minutes. On Friday, Dimitrov will face No 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz (Spain). Hurkacz was ranked 9th, meaning Dimitrov achieved his 39th career victory over a top-10 tennis player. The Bulgarian tennis player earned 155 points and is nearing the 11th position in the rankings. He is now only 85 points behind Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Alcaraz, who is currently ranked at No. 2, leads Dimitrov in their head-to-head, 3-1, but Dimitrov’s victory came in their most recent meeting in Shanghai in October 2023.
