GERB leader Boyko Borissov said that his party would support the suspension or privatisation of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline. He said that in response to a proposal by We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) to set up a temporary parliamentary commission to investigate the construction of the TurkStream.

"The pipeline is 100% Bulgarian, entirely on Bulgarian territory, the shares are 100% Bulgarian. As of today, there is a net profit of 670 000 euro. There is no such company, no such state-owned company in Bulgaria that brings such a huge monetary contribution to the people. If the colleagues want and believe that there is something wrong with it and that we should hand over Bulgaria's interests to Greece, they can table a decision to stop Balkan Stream today," Borissov added.
