Full participation in the European Union and NATO, the development of established bilateral strategic partnerships with EU countries and the establishment of new ones, the protection of the rights and interests of Bulgarian communities abroad, cultural and digital diplomacy, strategic communication. These are some of the priorities in the draft foreign policy strategy of Bulgaria 2024-2030, which was presented by Bulgaria's outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel.

The first such document in Bulgaria's history has been prepared after extensive expert and public consultation and aims to increase predictability and support for Bulgaria's foreign policy.

"As an EU and NATO member, Bulgaria has its clear positions. Freedom, democracy, peace cannot be taken for granted, so Bulgaria needs a clear position when these borders are violated," Mariya Gabriel said.
