2023 was the hottest year in Bulgaria since 1930

2023 was the hottest year in Bulgaria since 1930. The average annual temperature in this country was 12.9°С., or 1.6°С. above the climatic norm for the 1991-2020 period, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has announced. 

The average annual maximum temperature for the country was 19.3 °С., or 2.4 °С above the climatic norm. The highest temperature for 2023 was registered on 25 July in Russe - 43.0 °С. The minimum annual temperature for Bulgaria was 7.6 °С., or 1.7 °С above the norm. The lowest temperature for Bulgaria in 2023 was 24.7 °С. registered on Musala peak on 6 February.
