The National Assembly dismissed the manager of the National Health Insurance Fund, Stanimir Mihaylov. The decision was taken with 116 votes "for", 56 "against" and no abstentions. The premature termination of the mandate of Mihaylov, was included for consideration at the proposal of the Speaker of Parliament Rosen Zhelyazkov over Mihaylov’s resignation filed on December 1, 2023.

During the parliamentary debate, it became clear that Stanimir Mihaylov had already withdrawn his resignation. "We will appeal to the Constitutional Court whether it is possible for the National Assembly to release someone who does not want to be released, without any other reasons," MP Vasil Pandov from PP-DB said. According to the coalition, the resignation vote is part of the plan of GERB and DPS to control the National Health Insurance Fund.
