Debate on "Green energy, nature, agriculture - how to reconcile them sustainably?" will be held today in the National Assembly as the organizer is Green Laws Initiative.
According to the organizers, the initiative to build renewable energy sources is currently left primarily in the hands of private investors and the absence of the state in the process creates conditions for conflicts between them and the public interest. "Instead of building on damaged terrains such as former mines or former industrial zones, it turns out to be more profitable for investors to change the purpose of pastures and valuable arable land", according to "Green Laws".
At the debate, politicians and citizens will search for legislative measures to ensure sustainable reconciliation of RES development with the protection of natural resources and agricultural lands in Bulgaria.
