"You reap what you sow", says a proverb. And spring is the time for sowing. Traditionally, at this time of the year Sevlievo hosts a long-awaited event associated with the agricultural lifestyle of Bulgarians. This weekend, the town will host the 10th edition of the Bulgarian Seed Festival.
On April 27 and 28, the Seed House open its doors in park "Barracks" to continue the initiative "Pass it On! Take and Plant Bulgarian Seeds!" Visitors can take seeds free of charge. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the festival, several agricultural institutes in the area will hand out old Bulgarian vegetable varieties, essential oil plants and cereals.
Representatives of various community centres from the villages of Sevlievo Municipality are actively participating in the initiative. They will distribute seedlings from local varieties, as well as seeds preserved by their ancestors. The Seed House also allows for a free exchange of seeds. Any visitor can take or leave a packet of seeds with information about them.
