In a symbolic handover at the closure of this year's European Rowing Championships in Szeged, Hungary, Plovdiv stepped into the spotlight as the next destination for Europe's premier rowing event in 2025. Annamarie Phelps, Chair of European Rowing, passed the Championships flag to Nikola Gospodarski, Race Director of the Plovdiv European Rowing Championships Organising Committee.

Plovdiv's forthcoming hosting duties promise inclusivity, with plans to welcome athletes with special needs alongside their peers. An estimated 750 to 950 rowers from across Europe are expected to arrive in the city. They will compete in approximately 350 to 400 racing boats.

The stage is set for Plovdiv to showcase the athleticism and camaraderie that define the European Rowing Championships.
