Presidents Rumen Radev and Ilham Aliyev have signed a Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.

The Bulgarian head of state is on an official visit to Baku at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart. This is the fourth time in the last two years that Radev and Aliyev have met.

In the presence of the two leaders, other documents of bilateral interest for strengthening cooperation between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan were signed.

These include a joint operation agreement between Bulgaria Air and Azerbaijan's national airline AZAL, a memorandum of understanding between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Asarel Investment JSC, and a memorandum of understanding between Bulgaria's Ministry of Innovation and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and Transport on cooperation in the field of technological innovation, BTA reported.

Azerbaijan is Bulgaria's key energy partner, supplying half of the country's annual gas consumption and helping to diversify gas supplies.
