Speaking at a meeting with ambassadors from EU member states, the US, the UK and Switzerland, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said that the main task of the interim government was to hold fair and democratic elections.

At the same time, however, the cabinet is continuing to work on the country's main international policy priorities - accession by land to the Schengen area, joining the eurozone and the OECD.

The prime minister pointed out that Sofia's ambition is to adopt the single European currency in 2025, and the government expects the support of the eurozone members in this regard.

The meeting also discussed security in the Black Sea, the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East region.
