17 Bulgarians elected to the European Film Academy

The European Film Academy (EFA) has welcomed 709 new film professionals as members. Among them are actors Maria Bakalova and Boyko Krastanov and 15 other Bulgarian film professionals. As EFA members, they will be eligible to vote for the European Film Awards. 

The European Film Academy now has over 5,000 members from 52 countries. The names of all new members were announced on the EFA website on Europe Day, 9 May. New members are elected once a year. Among the new members are Cate Blanchett, Jovan Marjanović, Jerry Hoffmann and Sofia Exarchou

Also joining the EFA are directors Liza Boeva, Andrey Hadjivasilev, Kosta Karakashyan, Nicky Stoichkov and Galya Stoyanova, cinematographers Ivan Chertov and Alexander Stanishev, and screenwriters Teodora Markova and Simeon Ventsislavov.
