Iran's Kimia Alizadeh brought Bulgaria a European title in taekwondo

Iranian-born Olympic taekwondo star Kimia Alizadeh brought a European title to Bulgaria in her first competition under the Bulgarian flag. 

The recently naturalised Iranian won gold in the 62kg category at the Old Continent Championships in the Serbian capital Belgrade.

In the final, the bronze medallist from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, who will represent Bulgaria at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer, prevailed with 2:1 rounds over the winner of three bronze medals from world championships and world champion for girls Aaliyah Powell of Great Britain.
