A silver medal depicting an ancient theatre mask has been created on the occasion of the discovery of the ancient city of Heraclea Sintica near Petrich.

The ceramic theatre mask dating back to the 2nd-3rd century that adorns the medal was found during excavations and is on display in the town's historical museum. To it have been added floral ornaments identical to those of the exquisitely decorated Corinthian capitals of the columns of the forum of the ancient city.

On the other side of the medal there is a stylized portrait of the mythical hero Heracles, whose name the village bears.

The circulation of the medal is only one hundred copies. The idea of the municipality and the private mint that produced the exhibit is to create a collection of silver medals with images of emblematic artifacts from Heraclea Sintica.
