The perception of the level of corruption in Bulgaria remains very high, Geoff Gottlieb, Senior IMF Regional Representative for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe said. From an institutional point of view, the reduction in the level of corruption is important. "This has an additional positive effect. Better governance reforms are the cornerstone for unblocking European funds," said Gottlieb, who participated in the "The Noise of Money" forum in Sofia .
According to Gottlieb, Bulgaria has a very high percentage of young people of working age who neither study nor work and this is a huge problem for the labor market. More investments and better management of resources are needed, including a serious improvement in digital skills.
