Alpha Research: GERB/SDS with comfortable lead days away from the elections

GERB/SDS are top of the voter approval list for the elections for National Assembly and European Parliament on 9 June, with a comfortable margin of almost 10%, a survey by Alpha Research agency shows. The survey was conducted by Alpha Research in the period 1- 4 June by direct standardized interview using a tablet, sample size – 1,000 respondents over the age of 18, and is self-financed.  

The coalition GERB/SDS earns the support of 25.1% of the respondents for National Assembly, followed by We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) – 15.4%, Vazrazhdane – 15.2%, The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) – 14.8 %, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) – 8.1% and There Is such a People (ITN) – 6.2%. Blue Bulgaria (3.3%) and Bulgarian Solidarity (2.4%) remain below the electoral threshold.

“One of the big questions in these elections is which of the political players will come second, third and fourth,” comments Pavel Valchev from Alpha Research.

42% of the respondents say they will vote in the elections. Of them, 72% say they have decided who they are going to cast their vote for, 16% made their minds up during the period of electioneering, and 12% have not decided yet.
