On 9 June, 9,356 voting machines will be in use inside Bulgaria and 245 abroad, Central Election Commission spokesperson Rositsa Mateva said in an interview for bTV. If, for some reason, machine voting cannot continue at any given polling station, the Central Election Commission will decide for the vote to continue using paper ballots.

Compared to the election in April 2023, there are now 1,500 more candidates for MPs in the Bulgarian National Assembly. A total of 6,100 candidates are vying for seats in Bulgaria’s parliament – 1,826 women and 4,274 men.
