Bulgaria is among the European countries with a high share of foreign students. Currently, foreign students make up about 8% of the student population in Bulgaria, placing the country among the leaders in the region. These figures were presented by Education Minister Galin Tsokov at a meeting of heads of higher education institutions in Bulgaria, held yesterday in Varna.

According to Tsokov, measures are being prepared to improve the promotion of Bulgaria as a destination for higher education. In this regard, the Ministry of Education is developing an electronic system for recognising the diplomas of students from third countries and is considering the creation of a separate national programme for the education of these students.
