The election day passed without serious incidents and violations of public order, Minister of Interior, Kalin Stoyanov has reported. 16,000 employees of the Ministry of the Interior were engaged in guarding the polling stations and working on reports of violations.
Since the beginning of the election campaign until now, the Ministry of Interior has received 583 reports of possible vote buying and other election violations. The biggest number of signals are in Burgas, Varna and Sofia. Clearing of debt, money transfers and other methods were used as the main ways to buy votes. Stoyanov said that the Ministry of the Interior has made efforts to limit this phenomenon as much as possible. "There was no umbrella for any political party and formation," the minister added.
