Swimming in Oceans Seven marathon, Petar Stoychev sets Triple Crown record

Bulgarian open water swimming star Petar Stoychev showed an outstanding performance and broke the record for the Triple Crown. It includes crossing the English Channel, swimming around Manhattan Island and crossing the Catalina Channel in Southern California. The Bulgarian swam the final distance of 32.3 km. for 8h42m on Monday. He finished in the Triple Crown with a total time of 22h8m 46s, beating the previous best time by 2h29m. It belonged of Marcia Cleveland from the US. 

In addition to the English Channel and Catalina, Stoychev has already crossed the Strait of Gibraltar, Cook Strait and Molokai Channel. To complete the prestigious Oceans Seven marathon, the Bulgarian has to swim across the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland and the Tsugaru Strait in Japan.
