A Bulgarian will compete for the Paella World Cup

Bulgarian Nikolay Todorov aka Nick is among the contenders for the best paella master in the world. The World Paella Day Cup is a culinary paella championship that will be held for the seventh time in Valencia with participants from all over the world. The aim of the championship is to promote paella and choose the best master of the delicious Spanish dish. 

Voting is currently underway to select the finalists, with 44 candidates from 25 countries competing for the 10 places in the final, which will be held on 20 September 2024 in Valencia.

Nick Todorov's name is associated with organising some of the biggest culinary festivals in the country. Cooking is one of his hobbies and paella has been his passion for years. His first encounter with the dish was 25 years ago and he has cooked hundreds of paellas at events of all sizes - festivals, parties, demonstrations, workshops. At the final of the World Paella Day Cup Nikolay Todorov will have to present his original paella recipe, which he has already been working on.

The Bulgarian challenger invites everyone to two events in Sofia and Varna to try and taste his culinary capabilities: on 21 June 2024 in Sofia, "Severen Park Fest" from 18.00 to 21.00; on 23 June 2024 in Varna, VARNA STREET FOOD PARK, Coastal Alley, 3 Buna from 12.00 to 14.00.
