Through the years, Bulgaria has turned into a sought-after exporter of fish and fish products, as well as delicatessen caviar products. This was made clear during the visit by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Deyan Stratev to a fish processing facility on the territory of Pazardzhik. Modern and effective technologies in fish production have been introduced in the country with the help of the European Fisheries and Aquaculture Programme. According to data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, in 2023 the country exported a total of 14,400 tons of fish and fish products, mostly to Romania and Sweden, followed by Belgium, Germany, Greece and Spain.
