Ramadan Atalay, an expelled MP from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) group, has called on the party to remain united. He said this as he entered Parliament this morning, BNT reported.

According to Atalay, the DPS has enough power to resist, which will be manifested when someone interferes with the timeless values of this party. According to Atalay, the non-unanimous vote in the DPS, including the votes of co-leaders Dzhevdet Chakarov and Delyan Peevski, was "a normal thing". "One leads the authentic policy of the MRF, while the other is very ambitious," Atalay pointed out, adding that there are disagreements between party founder Ahmed Dogan and Peevski, between the party and the way the party is run.

Hamid Hamid, another DPS MP, denied there was a disagreement in the party as he entered parliament this morning.

Speaking on the sidelines of parliament, DPS co-leader Dzhevdet Chakarov stressed the need to preserve the unity of the party. That is why it is necessary to change the principles of its leadership, because one-man rule leads to these processes.

Chakarov said that he did not support the proposal to form a government with Prime Minister Rossen Zhelyazkov because there was no negotiation process between the DPS and GERB-SDS. According to Chakarov, it was necessary to see whether the parties' programmes coincided, if not completely, then at least in part, in order to have clear objectives, because the country was in a critical situation.

Chakarov also pointed out that everyone in the party was Euro-Atlanticist, commenting on Delyan Peevski's words that after yesterday's vote it had become clear that the DPS had 30 MPs who shared Euro-Atlantic values and that they would be the ones to remain in Parliament. Yesterday, 30 DPS MPs supported the GERB-SDS proposal for a cabinet with Rosen Zhelyazkov as prime minister, while 14 voted against and 1 abstained.
