Ministry of Education and Science to consult lawmakers on how to improve education system

The Ministry of Education and Science will discuss a vision for change in the education system with MPs representing various parliamentary factions, interim Education Minister Galin Tsokov told BNR. The vision is for the benefit of the next regular government.

The focus will be on the quality of education. "In the next school year, 40 schools will be able to test tools for indicating the quality of the education system," the minister said. 

"What we have prepared as a vision for curricula is related to the so-called competence orientation - education will focus less on concepts and more on building life skills and competences," Galin Tsokov explained. According to him, the second most important point is greater integrality of knowledge, and the third - flexibility of curricula and their adaptation to local conditions (schools, communities, municipalities).
