GERB-SDS will not support second or third exploratory mandate

Without having any clarity on the exact timing of the second exploratory mandate for government formation, GERB said in a media statement that the GERB-SDS parliamentary group will unequivocally not support it under any circumstances. This stance also applies to the third mandate.

GERB believes that "the divisions and opposition between the parliamentary groups in the 50th National Assembly do not provide a sufficient basis for the formation of a stable government". The statement recalls that GERB's proposal for a coalition government with shared responsibility and a clear programme did not find support.

According to the leading political force, "the voters are aware that if you have not accepted talks with the first political force and you offer such talks with the second, third, fourth, etc. - it is not reason but political stubbornness". GERB concludes by saying that it is "counting on political maturity in the coming election campaign as a prerequisite for forming a government in the next National Assembly".
