The situation with the wildfires in the country remains critical. The fire near Stara Zagora has been contained. Firefighting teams are also monitoring the situation near the village of Otets Paisievo, Plovdiv district. The fire there is partially contained, but there are still smouldering hotspots. Helicopters are dousing the area with water. Dozens of houses burned down in the villa area of Otets Paisievo, and more than 15 people have been evacuated. Strong winds reignited the fire near the village of Konstantinovo, Simeonovgrad municipality. People living in the periphery of the village have been evacuated. Clearings have been made to stop the fire. The efforts to extinguish the fire near Strelcha continue today.

The heat and fires in southern Bulgaria are in contrast with the severe storm that hit parts of northern Bulgaria. Heavy rain and strong winds damaged cars and uprooted trees. A number of settlements in the districts of Pleven and Ruse were temporarily without electricity.
