Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev met with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Hristijan Mickoski during the forum in Blenheim Palace in the UK. Rumen Radev expressed the hope that Skopje will speed up the implementation of the bilateral friendship, goodneighbourhood and cooperation agreement with Bulgaria and North Macedonia’s agreements with the EU which will open up the prospect of beginning negotiations on its full membership of the EU, BGNES, reports.

“Goodneighbour relations are a main priority for Macedonia and the new Macedonian government, as is, finding, at long last, a lasting and sustainable solution to the problem we have with our neighbor to the East,” said Mickoski after the forum.

North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski stated that Bulgaria’s caretaker PM Dimitar Glavchev lacked the legitimacy to make decisions regarding North Macedonia’s future in the EU and we need to wait for the formation of a regular government in Sofia.
