In the afternoon cumulus rain clouds will form over Northeastern Bulgaria and the Rhodopes, and there will be brief rain with thunder in many parts. There will be a moderate to strong wind from the Northwest. Maximum temperatures 30-35° C., for Sofia around 29° C.
Over the mountains the weather will be predominantly sunny, with a temporary increase of clouds before midday over Strandzha, and in the afternoon over the Eastern portions of the Balkan Range and the Rhodopes where there will be occasional showers and thunder. The rain and thunder will be more significant over the Rhodopes. There will be a strong wind from the Northwest. Maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m. around 24° C., at 2,000 m. around 17° C.
