GERB/SDS will not support a government on the third mandate. This was made clear after three hours of consultations with There Is Such a People (ITN). At these consultations ITN presented its priorities in the spheres of justice, energy and foreign policy.

The talks began with a question by GERB/SDS who asked about a meeting between ITN and the other parliamentary forces held last night, to which GERB was not invited. GERB MP Rosen Zhelyazkov asked whether the meeting had discussed the removal of GERB-nominated National Assembly President Raya Nazaryan from the post, and what the purpose of the meeting was – a majority or engineering for a caretaker cabinet.

“We live in a free country in which anyone can meet with whoever they choose to. The only talks we are conducting are for fulfilling the third (cabinet-forming) mandate on a broad basis,” answered Toshko Yordanov, chair of ITN’s parliamentary group. Forming a regular government depends on GERB/SDS and unless the coalition supports it we are heading for early elections, Toshko Yordanov said further.
