Bulgarian student wins medal at Space Camp Turkiye

Bulgaria's Nia Parusheva, a pupil from the 26th Secondary School ''Yordan Yovkov'' in Sofia, has won an individual medal for outstanding performance at the one-week training camp Space Camp Turkiye. 

In a press release from the Center for Creative Learning, the official partner of the program for Bulgaria, it is stated that the Bulgarian student competed with about 200 participants from 5 countries. She had previously won a scholarship that gave her the opportunity to participate in the camp, one of two space training centres in the world modeled after NASA. 

Located in the city of Izmir, western Turkey, it has a separate complex, the Aurora and Discovery facilities; simulators and training devices with which the astronauts are trained, and several control rooms and laboratories. 

Space Camp Türkiye provides an intensive program focused on STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts and math - that includes hands-on activities and teamwork.
