The fight against the fire in Slavyanka mountain continues

More than 150 firefighters continue the battle with the fire in the western part of the Slavyanka mountain.

Several outbreaks were activated on Greek territory and managed to enter a juniper-laden forest on Bulgarian territory.

Wide clearings are being made to stop the spread of the fire.

One of the Spanish planes extinguished the fire from the air, after which the high-altitude fire engines continued to extinguish with water on the ground, as they did on the eastern front, where the fire was contained.

Speaking to BNR Blagoevgrad, deputy regional governor Elhan Kulkov pointed out that the fire in Slavyanka cost a lot of efforts on the Bulgarian side and the Greek side was not doing what was necessary.
