Hopes of medals for Bulgaria on penultimate day of Paris Olympics

On the penultimate day of the Paris Olympics, Bulgaria’s rhythmic gymnastics ensemble, which came first in the qualifications, is to vie for a gold medal.

Yoana Georgieva will be the first to compete on this day in the 500 m. kayak single semifinals.

Bilyana Dudova will continue in the wrestling tournament – at the repechage her rival in the 62 kg. category will be Purevdorjiin Orkhon, Mongolia. If she wins, she will be competing against Aisuluu Tynybekova, Kirgizstan for the bronze. Bulgaria’s other wrestling contestant Yuliana Yaneva will be competing, in her first match in the 76 kg. category, against Milaimys Marin Potrille, Cuba.

Tihomir Ivanov will be competing in the high jump after clearing 2.24 m. and qualifying for the final.
