Price of Bulgarian agricultural land has been steadily rising

Agricultural land in Bulgaria has more than doubled in price, or by 108.7%, for the past 7 years, according to data of the National Statistical Institute. In 2016, the average price per decare of land was 386 EUR and last year it was 803 EUR. 

Fields in the south-western region of the country marked the biggest price rise - more than 202% for 7 years. The reason is the sharp increase in the price of agricultural land in the region of Sofia. Second when it comes to price rise for the past 7 years is the north-western region with a rise of 117%. The price of land in Dobrudzha rose by 113% and the decare there costs EUR 1,820.
