As the snap election draws nearer, GERB leader Boyko Borissov called for shared responsibility with the other political forces. This took place at a meeting with a former regional minister and the mayors of Veliko Tarnovo and Svishtov, with whom he discussed a new water plan for the country.

The first clause in this agreement will be drinking water, and the second – agriculture, Boyko Borissov stated. “Almost one million people are suffering water supply disruptions. So, let’s do what we are proposing for these 1 million voters of all parties,” he said.

After, a few days ago, he sketched the Sofia circular road as he sees it, Boyko Borissov visualized, on a piece of paper, his plans for the River Danube. “There are places where dams should be built, there has to be afforestation,” he stated.

On their part, the mayors informed Boyko Borissov of the poor infrastructure and the many settlements where there are water supply disruptions, while former cabinet minister and current MP Nikolay Nankov warned that quick and adequate action regarding drinking water needs to be taken.
