The majority of Bulgarians do not vote, indicate data of the Central Election Commission on voter turnout in the country in the past 3 years. For example, at the election on 4 April, 2021 voter turnout was 50.61%, while three months later, on 11 July it was 42.19%. The voter turnout at the election for president and vice president and for members of parliament that same year, 2021, was 40.23%. Almost a year later, on 2 October, 2022, the turnout was 39.41%, and in April 2023 the voter turnout during the election for parliament was 40.69%.
