100 cyclists from 5 countries are leaving from Vidin on the Danube this morning, on the longest cycling route in the country. This year’s 11th edition of the multiday sporting adventure is called Dunav Ultra - Next Level 2024.

“The highest number of participants are from Bulgaria and Romania, the rest come from Ukraine, the UK and the US which makes the Dunav Ultra an international event of extraordinary interest. This time it will cross 110 towns and villages,” says organizer Boris Begamov.

Even though the 740-km. long cycling event is not competitive, the cyclists keep up a good pace and cover the distance within 5 to 7 days. Dunav Ultra is more of a tourist endeavor so that the participants can enjoy the sights along the River Danube.
