Another early election costs Bulgaria over €51 million

The caretaker government has approved the budget for the preparation and holding of the upcoming early parliamentary elections. The approved budget amounts to BGN 100 028 000 (51 142 425 euro). It will be used to finance the preparation and printing of electoral lists and ballot papers, logistical support for the administrations, and to pay the members of the electoral commissions.


Part of the funds will also be used for the organisation of voting abroad, security measures by the Ministry of Interior to protect public order, campaigns to explain voters' rights and obligations, video surveillance and video recording of the electoral process.
President Rumen Radev signed a decree setting 27 October as the date for the National Assembly elections.
