Race with donkey carts and donkey football in Gurkovo

Gurkovo for the thirty-fifth time will host the only bio race of its kind in Bulgaria with donkey carts, the local administration announced. The start will be given today at the town stadium to the sound of the donkey anthem by the president of the event who will arrive in an official carriage, accompanied by the commandant, cheerleaders, flag bearers, judges and the long-eared competitors.

The race features spectacular disciplines such as speed section, donkey cart pulling for strength and endurance, best decorated cart. However, mini-football with donkeys remains the favorite for both the audience and the participants.

In that year the bio race is part of a large-scale anniversary program, with which Gurkovo celebrates the half-century anniversary since it was given the status of a town.
