In just one day 500 Bulgarians accessed their health records on their mobile telephones using the application eZdrave (eHealth), the Ministry of Health has announced. As of 1 September patients have access to their electronic health records without digital signature. The Ministry of Health reminds the public that every Bulgarian citizen has an electronic health record giving access to laboratory results, prescriptions, hospitalizations, blood donation information, medical notes. Every parent also has access to the data of their children. The application also provides information about upcoming checkups, immunizations, referrals.
Doctors still do not have access to the health reports of their patients, Dr. Nikolay Branzalov, Deputy Chair of the Bulgarian Medical Association told public service TV BNT.
