Twenty-eight parties and 11 coalitions have submitted documents to take part in the early elections on 27 October. Campaigning for the seventh parliamentary elections in four years begins on 27 September. The Central Electoral Commission registered all parties and coalitions that submitted their documents on time.

Until 14 September, the General Directorate of Civil Registration and Administrative Services will check the lists submitted by the parties and coalitions in the framework of the so-called "pending check". If there is a formation with an incorrect application, the CEC will decide to remove it from the list of participants in the elections. In addition, by 21 September, the Commission will register a party or coalition to take part in the elections if the court has overturned the decision refusing its registration.

At a national meeting of the Interior Ministry to discuss the upcoming elections, interim Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov said that the police would effectively combat vote buying and selling.

Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev added that the government would not tolerate accusations that the Interior Ministry was compromising the elections, noting that "there is no record anywhere that suggests that the Interior Ministry is conducting the elections". Glavchev stressed that the role of both the Interior Ministry and the caretaker government was, among other things, to ensure fair and transparent elections.
